Dear Friend and Partner of UN-HABITAT,
During the past six months more than 40 partners have been busy preparing for the launch of the World Urban Campaign on 26 March, 2010 at the fifth session of the World Urban Forum.
In preparation for the launch, we are glad to inform you of our global Campaign logo competition sponsored by Veolia Environment.

The World Urban Campaign is designed in a unique way because it aims to change the way cities work with each other and their partners in the public, private and civil society sectors.
We need to know what you think about the Campaign. Please take a moment to review the preliminary statement below. It is being refined before leaders from each of the Campaign's partner organizations converge in Rio at the World Urban Forum.
These 40-plus partner organizations and UN-HABITAT seek your help to spread the word. We therefore ask you and your organization to share this news through your own networks and communications channels.
Feel free to contact us by-email at wuc@unhabitat.org for any queries you may have. Feel free also to post this news about the Campaign to your own website, spread by email, or by other means.
Your organization's interest in The World Urban Campaign is most important to us, and we hope your involvement will be key to its success.
We are keen to see a wide range of logos submitted, from professional and non-professional designers alike.
The World Urban Campaign
The World Urban Campaign is a platform for public, private and civil society sectors to join forces around a common focus and on a set of shared goals: elevating the importance accorded to sustainable urbanization; sharing practical tools that work; raising awareness about the public policies which make smarter public and private investments possible.
The World Urban Campaign is organized, at the local and national levels, to raise the visibility of the “urban sustainability” imperative and to make it a much higher priority on the agenda of international institutions, national governments and local authorities.
The World Urban Campaign provides key partners (including networks of cities, companies, national agencies, international organizations and civil society with advocacy instruments) which help to articulate a shared vision for a better urban future within their own constituencies and communities.
The World Urban Campaign's vision applies as much to organizations of the urban poor as it does to government leaders, local authorities, businesses, youth organizations, media outlets, professional associations, women’s groups, parliamentarians and inter-governmental bodies.
The World Urban Campaign, is a force in the making that places sustainable urbanization at the center of sustainable development.
